Q: DC power sources? A: DC battery and two AC to DC converters.
Q: Busses? A: #1 DC primary, #2 DC primary, DC essential, DC battery and DC utility.
Q: Battery life at an 85% charge? A: 34 – 41 minutes.
Q: Normal DC distribution with AC power? A: #1 converter powers the #1 DC primary, DC essential and the battery bus. #2 Converter powers the #2 primary, utility bus and charges the battery.
Q: Single converter failures? A: A single converter will power all DC busses.
Q: DC distribution with only battery power? A: The utility bus is always powered with the battery connected and charged. The DC essential bus and the battery bus are powered when the battery switch is turned on.
Q: Battery monitor panel? A: When the battery is on, the panel indicates charge condition (battery voltage).. When AC power is supplied, the meter will indicate converter output and the battery is being charged.
Q: Bus location for shedding on battery power only? A: DC ESS bus – pilot, copilot’s overhead, EAR and cabin overhead. BATT utility and BATT busses – pilot’s corner.
Q: AC power sources? A: #1 and #2 generators, APU generator, external power.
Q: Left junction box – major components? A: #1 gen GCU, APU gen GCU, #1 converter, relays and current limiters.
Q: Right junction box – major components? A: #2 gen GCU, #1 converter, relays and current limiters.
Q: Generator control unit functions? A: Over voltage, under voltage, under frequency, feeder fault and current limiting. Under frequency protection is disabled in flight to prevent losing generators during rotor droop (WOW). Navy gouge is genscome off line around 80%.
Q: Normal AC distribution? A: #1 generator – #1 AC primary, AC essential bus and the secondary bus. #2 generator powers the #2 AC primary and the AC monitor.
It is our mission to do work that optimizes our unique capacity to serve others.
We will humbly play the roles assigned to us to the best of our ability, while empowering others to do the same.
We will embrace the inevitable discomfort, uncertainty, and hard work as well as the joy, laughter, respect, and love that result from worthy pursuits.
We will continue to be students of “the game” and never stop developing as leaders and teachers in our community and world, as we cultivate our potential to serve.
Spiraling up, overcoming mistakes, closing the gap between who we are and who we can be.
