I’ve learned through experience that a life well lived is incremental. Disciplined, sustained effort aggregates and compounds, and over time, produces a certain level of expertise, which, when used to serve others, has a cumulative impact. “Spiral up” is part of my commitment to use the lessons I’ve learned to serve you. Operating from a position of integrity (OPI) is living in alignment with your values, while harnessing your gifts and passion to fill a need in service to others. The OPI section of this website shares insight gained during my idiosyncratic effort to contribute to our aviation community and rescue operations. These posts share philosophical convictions available to first responders and their leaders to aid in mission preparation and execution.

Going Pro

The lessons learned from this football journey proved useful throughout my second career, a 20+ year effort to be an “all-pro” rescue helicopter pilot. My hope is that these stories help young people to “close the gap” in whatever challenging endeavor they are committed to “tackling.”
