A: PCLs, Power Available Spindle (PAS), Collective, Load Demand Spindle (LDS).

A: 52-65%. 

253. Q: How do you overcome a malfunction of the starter speed switch? 
A: Hold down the starter button. 

254. Q: How do you manually disengage the starter? 
A: Pull down on the PCL. 

255. Q: What parameters are required from the operating engine to do a cross- bleed start? 
A: 90% Ng and 100% Nr and engine anti-ice light out. 

256. Q: No. 1 Engine will not start without what bus? 
A: DC essential bus is required to open the starter valve (with no AC power- APU or external power, the #1 engine is the only engine you can initially start – this situation would necessitate a “buddy start”). 

257. Q: No. 2 Engine needs which bus powered to start? 
A: No. 2 DC Primary bus (AC power is needed for the No. 2 DC Primary bus to be powered). 

258. Q: If nothing happens when you select APU on, what can you try? 
A: Pressing the manual override lever on the APU accumulator. 

259. Q: # 1/2 ANTI-ICE ON means what? 
A: The signal from a switch tells you the position of the valve. The valve should be open when you are below approximately 90% Ng (corrected for temp) or you are above 90% Ng with the engine anti-ice switch on. 

260. Q: # 1/2 INLET AI ON advisory means what? 
A: Engine inlet is above 93°C. 

261. Q: Expected rise in TGT when turning engine anti-ice on? 
A: 30-100°C. 

262. Q: Temps. you shall see the INLET AI ON advisory, may/may not, shall not? 
A: The INLET AI ON advisory may or may not be displayed between 4-13°C. If OAT is greater than 13°C, the INLET AI ON shall not be displayed. 

263. Q: ENG 1/2 OUT warning lights illuminate when? 
A: Ng below 55%, weight off wheels. 

264. Q: How does the loss of the alternator’s Ng winding affect engine indications? 
A: Ng speed signal to the Engine Instrument and Crew Alert System (EICAS). Loss of this winding will result in the loss of the Ng display on the EICAS page, the engine display for the affected engine being crossed out in red (red X over engine instruments) and the respective engine out Master Warning light illuminating. TGT, Np and Torque will still be in normal operating ranges. 

265. Q: Pulling the APU T-handle does what 6 things? 
A: 1. Removes electrical power from the APU fuel shutoff valve. 2. Removes power from the engine fuel prime valve, allowing both valves to close. 3. Removes power from the prime boost pump. 4. Sends a stop signal to the ESU.  5. Arms the fire extinguisher systems. 6. Positions the extinguisher directional control valve to APU.
